Sugar Bag is one of Arnhem Land's greatest hidden treasures, so valued that it features in dedicated song cycles and ceremonial dances. The 'sugar bag fly', which is a tiny stingless native bee, produces wax and honey - called Gugu.

FINE PRINTS FROM THE BLANASI COLLECTION

The Blanasi Collection is one of the finest examples of West Arnhem Art anywhere in Australia.

In 1996, senior Beswick/Wugularr artists and elders, led by internationally renowned "didjeridu master" David Blanasi, conceived the idea of putting together a special collection of works to be called "Gunwinjgu" or "the Company of People". This collection would showcase and celebrate the strength of indigenous culture in the area. It was to be kept together as a collection for future generations.

LIMITED EDITION SILK SCREEN PRINTS

This series of five silk screens were developed during an artists’ workshop at Beswick in May 2007 with Darwin printmaker Basil Hall. Five established painters used the silk screen technique for the first time to produce this stunning series in editions of just 20 and 40 (Roy Ashley).

LIMITED EDITION SILK SCREEN PRINTS

This series of 18 etchings were developed by young Rittharngu/Wagalak men during a workshop in May 2007 with Darwin print maker Basil Hall. New to the technique, each artist depicted billabong scenes, the animals, fish and plants that feature in their daily lives.
