Harvesting is a complex and time consuming task, it involves spotting the miniscule fly in the air and, using incredible visual acuity and patience, to follow its flight to the nest. The hives, once found, yield only small amounts of the precious honey and wax. It can take many hours to remove the sugar bag with care, dewax and filter it before using it to produce distinctive perfumes and textures in these products.

Sugar Bag is one
of Arnhem Land's greatest hidden treasures, so valued that it
features in dedicated song cycles and ceremonial dances. The
'sugar bag fly', which is a tiny stingless native bee, produces
wax and honey - called Gugu.
