WARNING

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander visitors are warned that this section contains images and voice of the late Bullinj M. Hall, the Black Hawk. Bullinj was the Vice President and a founding member of Djilpin Arts Aboriginal Corporation, a songman, performer and artist. Together with Frankie Tango Lane, Bullinj made and painted many of the didjeridus in the Centre. This site is dedicated to the memory of the Black Hawk.

Learn about West Arnhem didjeridus

Didjeridus from this region are West Arnhem style. They are called Mago, they’re different and special and are made in the tradition made famous by Beswick’s Mago Master the later elder D. Blanasi.

Ghunmarn didjeridus are hand cut by Aboriginal people on Aboriginal land. They are drilled out naturally by termites, not by machines. Top quality musical instruments, they are used in ceremony and performance and feature traditional designs handed painted with a grass brush. All our didjs are supplied with natural sugar-bag wax mouthpieces. These didjs are the genuine article. You can support Aboriginal people in remote communities by choosing to buy authentic products from community enterprises like Ghunmarn Culture Centre.
